Our History & Mission:

The New Mexico Hunter Jumper Association was organized in 1962 with the goal of promoting and standardizing all recognized hunter jumper horse shows and other equestrian activities within New Mexico and neighboring states and to act in the common good of exhibitors, sponsors, and spectators.  The current membership totals over 100 active members. The Association registers in excess of 80 horses and ponies.  We are an affiliate member of the United States Equestrian Federation and follow their rules. Currently there are numerous Out of State NMHJA approved horse shows, as well as 4 In-State shows.  NMHJA is a non-profit organization.  The NMHJA is governed by a board of directors consisting of twelve members. We have several committees responsible for show standards, awards, social events, charities, our year end banquet, rules and by-laws.

For updated information regarding our monthly board meetings, banquet and any other important information, please visit the NEWS FLASH page, or visit our Facebook page.

We also welcome ideas and volunteers to help further support our contributions to the horse community in New Mexico. This is an organization for you, the horse community. Please get involved.
